Designed for Purpose

We are designed for Purpose! Ps.139
1. Our body is designed for responsiveness (I think Robert made that word up, because I can’t find it anywhere… 🙂 )
”This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we Ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” 1 John. 3:16-17
–> We are designed to respond!
2. Our soul is designed for sensibility
”All his sons and daughters came to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted. ’No,’ he said, ’in mourning will I go down to the grave to my son.’ So his father wept for him.” Gen. 37:35
–> We can get immune to comfort. If we are scarred in our souls we can lose our sensibility. But we were designed for sensibility.
3. Our spirit is designed for awareness
”Aware that his desiples were grumbeling about this, Jesus said to them, ’Does this offend you?” John. 6:61
”Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was the way they were thinking in their hearts, and said to them, ’Why are you thinking these things?’…”
Mark. 2:8
”Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.” Hebr. 13:2
We are designed to see what’s going on in the world around us and respond to it! You need to know that you’re not here (in the church, in the world) by accident! You are here because God put you here and he’s got a purpose with your life. We are designed to know our position in the world and our position in God. We are designed to be sensitive and respond to our world. We are designed to be aware of our own condition, to be aware of the vulnerability in our lifes. (Read about Samson… It says that he wasn’t aware that God had left him.)
”So, if you think you’re standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!”
1 Cor. 10:12
–> Don’t be arrogant…
If you find that you can look at all the misery in our world and don’t be touched -pray that God would make you sensitive again. You are designed to respond.
